As Henry slowly turned around to see his beautiful bride, all time stopped. The anticipation was wiped away and there was no way he could stop smiling. Grinning from ear to ear, this moment is one of my favorites. The first look. The first time Henry saw Alix on their wedding day. Priceless. Emotional. Joyful. Excited. Happy. Nothing else mattered in that moment except each other.

Alix & Henry were married on a gorgeous July day in Waitsfield, Vermont. The Inn at the Round Barn Farm was the perfect setting for these two to celebrate their love with their closest family & friends.

The room was quiet. Jessica sat down on the bed. The handwritten note from Jesse in one hand, and a single rose in the other. As she started reading, the tears came. Happy tears. Very, happy tears. The rest of the world melted away as she read those pages. I knew in that moment that these two were deeply in love.

Jessica & Jesse have been together for 10 years and you can tell just by the way they look at each other. Best friends. Through thick and thin. They have experienced so much of life together, their wedding was just another step in their journey.

Andrew loves her. He loves her with his whole heart. I knew the moment I met him, but when he saw her for the first time in her wedding dress, looking radiant and perfect, you could tell that he wasn’t just seeing a beautiful woman, but seeing his future. All the anxiety and stress of the day washed away and all he could see was his beautiful bride and the beginning of their beautiful life together.

Andrea & Andrew were married under sunny skies on the lawn of the gorgeous Kimpton Taconic Hotel in Manchester, Vermont last weekend. From the moment I arrived to the ladies getting ready suite they were nothing but helpful. Andrea & her team was AMAZING, they thought of every little detail and went above and beyond in every way. The day was filled with so many happy tears - you could feel the love between this incredible couple from the moment they saw each other and as they danced the night away.

It’s been exactly one year since Olivia & Al said ‘I do’ on a beautiful sunny spring day in April. This was a very special day for these two - not only were they eloping with just their pup Sadie by their side, it was also their 10 year anniversary together. When Olivia reached out to me to be their photographer I felt so honored to capture this amazing time in their lives.

Olivia & Al were married at the Ethan Allen Park just down the road from where they live in Burlington. The park was quiet when we arrived since it was a week day and we climbed to the top of the hill to ensure the gorgeous view as our backdrop. After, we ventured down to Lake Champlain and walked along the beach at Leddy Park. Olivia & Al, happy one year anniversary as a married couple! YOU GUYS! These two are getting married in August! This time last year I was out gallivanting my way through Oregon with my incredible friend Jess & her soon to be husband Eric. We had so many incredible adventures I don’t even know where to start! From hiking through waterfalls, wine tasting, the coast, the wooden shoe tulip festival & Bend, it was a trip I will never forget.

Let’s back up a minute and recap on how Jess & I became friends… We met as roommates during our study abroad semester at the University of Central Lancashire in Preston, England back in the Spring of 2014. We became attached at the hip exploring Europe together during our time overseas. We actually visited eleven different countries while we were there! And that brings me to a very special piece of the story that made me realize I could turn my love of photography into a career…

There were numerous occasions as we were traveling when we wanted a photograph of us together and not just a selfie (although we got really good at those!). I can't tell you how many times we would get the photo back and either one of our heads was chopped off, or the beautiful cathedral we were standing purposefully in front of wasn't even in the picture. This is when I realized not everyone has an eye for it and that I see things differently than other people. I see photographs everywhere I go!

Not only did studying abroad make me realize what I wanted to do with my life, it gave me a special appreciation of where I'm from and what I have. I am so thankful that after all these years Jess & I have remained friends despite the distance. Fast forward to Jess & Eric’s engagement session last spring! The two of them have been studying for their Masters degrees at Oregon State University (so of course we had to take some photos on campus!) I am so honored and excited to be photographing their wedding in their home state of Connecticut. Love you guys to the moon & back.

As I drove up the long driveway to The Omni Mount Washington Resort it felt like something out of a fairy tale. Maybe because it was the weekend before Christmas, celebrating the holidays was in full swing with so many families coming together, I just knew it was going to be a magical day!

I first met Chelsea & Joe in Hampton, New Hampshire for their engagement session. Chelsea grew up there and I immediately felt the connection as we drove to different beaches near her parents home. As soon as I walked into her house I knew I was in for a treat. What an incredible family, I knew this was going to be a very special wedding. And it most certainly was. You could feel the love and support radiating from the moment you walked into the room.

Every detail came together beautifully and despite the rain (that melted nearly all the snow), it was still the most perfect day for this amazing couple. Thank you Chelsea & Joe for having me be a part of your love story. I wish you the very best for years to come!

As Jamie sat down to read her letter from Eric, the card was blank. She immediately bursted out laughing as this is a usual Eric move. It suddenly got quiet as she began to read the note and the emotions swept over her. I could tell how special and meaningful those written words were from her soon to be husband. It made me realize how much we take for granted when writing texts, emails and Facebook messages ever day. Call me old fashioned but there is nothing like a hand written note from a loved one.

Nothing could of stopped Jamie & Eric from having the perfect wedding day at Sleep Hollow Inn in Huntington, Vermont. As the seasons of autumn and winter collided we had rain, sleet & snow fall down on us last Saturday. Jamie & Eric had an exceptional team of family & friends behind them and with a few logistical changes, the show must go on! A huge shoutout to the entire bridal party as well, who were troopers doing portraits outside when the rain let up. I don’t think the temperature got above 35 degrees that day but nobody complained one bit!

As I stepped out of my car I was nearly swept away by the incredibly strong wind at Grand Isle Lake house Saturday morning. But then I saw it, the brilliant orange and yellow leaves still fully vibrant on the trees surrounding the venue. YES. I couldn’t believe it, autumn in Vermont was still in the air up north at this stunning house overlooking Lake Champlain. I was beyond happy!

All of the pieces & little details came together beautifully for Polly & Ryan’s wedding day. From the outdoor ceremony overlooking the lake, gorgeous fall florals and maple syrup favors, oh and did you SEE that bridal gown! OMG. Polly looked stunning. And let’s not forget the incredible people surrounding these two. Nothing but smiles & laughter all day long.

As I drove up north on Saturday October 13th I had no idea what to expect as I had never been to the Tempson Barn, a new wedding venue in Lyndonville, Vermont. Boy was I in for a treat! It was beyond my expectations for beautiful. Mountain views as far as the eye could see everywhere you turned. And to make matters even better, the leaves on the trees were still burning a bright orange and yellow. I was in HEAVEN! Fall in Vermont is by far my favorite season to photograph gorgeous couples in love. I mean, come on, how do you beat that backdrop?! The cold crisp air made cuddling a must for Jessica & Derrick. I had so much fun photographing these two and their sweet kiddos.

Where do I even begin with these two high school sweethearts?! I’ve known Lauren & Shawn since middle school and I felt incredibly grateful and honored to be the one to capture their wedding. They started dating exactly 10 years ago to the day, September 29, 2008! What better way to celebrate a decade together than with all of their closest family and friends by their side while they said ‘I do.’ And let’s not forget about their most handsome husky Bauer who made a special appearance for photos with his Mom & Dad. He was an absolute ham for the camera!

Tying the knot at The Skinner Barn was the perfect setting for Lauren & Shawn. With it being the start of foliage, the leaves were beginning to change color, the crisp fall air was the perfect temperature and there were mountain views everywhere you looked. You could feel how special this setting was to them.

When Lauren & Shawn are together I noticed a beautiful sense of ease. (Sorry guys I’m going to be corny for a minute!) Like nothing could go wrong. Everything they needed was standing right there in front of them. It was like the rest of the world stopped, and nothing else mattered besides that exact moment together.

I wish you both nothing but the best in your future adventures and I’m sure I’ll see you again soon!

I first met Carrie & Mel at her sister’s wedding last year. Emily & Zach were married at The Mansfield Barn with an incredible team of people by their side. One of the most valuable team member’s was Carrie, she was by her sister’s side every step of the way; carrying her dress in between photos and helping in any way possible. When Carrie reached out for wedding photography (for her own day!) I was ecstatic! I felt so honored to be chosen by the same family not only once but twice. I was over the moon excited! And guess who was right there by her side the entire day, Emily. She was beyond helpful getting everyone together for family portraits, I could of hired her to be my assistant!

Even though Carrie & Mel’s wedding day was different than Emily & Zach’s big barn celebration, it suited the two of them perfectly. Waterworks Food + Drink is a stunning location for a small intimate wedding, everything was just right. The views, the natural window light, the food & the cocktails. What more do you need besides your closest family & friends!

And that’s exactly what Carrie & Mel wanted. Their closest people all in one place to celebrate together. When Carrie’s Dad pulled out his stack of note cards for his toast, I knew we were in for a treat. Not only was his speech a poem but his rhyming was ON POINT. I was so impressed. I’ll admit I was definitely laughing as hard as the guests!

Carrie & Mel, I wish you a lifetime of sunset’s together as beautiful as the one on your wedding day. Thank you for having me be a part of it. It was truly an honor!

Emily and Nate were married on a beautiful day in early September at The Skinner Barn in Waistfield, Vermont. Nothing but blue skies, crisp air & that feeling of fall being right around the corner. Definitely my favorite time of year in Vermont! September 8, 2018 was filled with so many smiles and laughs right from the get go and continued all through the night. I truly had SO much fun photographing Emily & Nate tie the knot.

When Nate saw his stunning bride for the first time he was truly shocked. His jaw dropped. The first words out of his mouth were ‘Holy Shit!’ I was laughing out loud (and so was Emily) from his reaction! And that pretty much became the motto for the day. Everything was out of this world amazing and what better way to describe it as ‘holy shit’ this is actually happening!

Emily & Nate, I knew from the moment I met you guys that your wedding day was going to be fun & genuine. Your laughter radiated the entire day and there was never a time when you both weren’t smiling. Thank you for having me be a part of your joyous day, it was incredible!

Brittany & Chris were married on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon in early September. Kamp Kill Kare State Park was a unique location for their wedding that I immediately fell in love with. The lake was a picture perfect backdrop for their ceremony looking right out over the water. When Chris saw Brittany for the first time in that beautiful gown you could tell it was truly meant to be. Seeing her take that long walk through the park with her Dad and come up over the top of the hill took everyone’s breath away. The way Brittany & Chris would look at each other throughout the entire ceremony was simply love.

Before their reception at the Saint Albans Historical Museum, we continued taking photos in Taylor Park across the street. These two are perfect for each other. Chris would do absolutely anything for Brittany, including being in front of the camera for 15 more minutes of photos (even though that was the last thing he wanted to do!) But he did it for her.

The first day of September was absolutely perfect for Kait & Brody to tie the knot at her parents home in Berlin, Vermont. Can you imagine waking up to this view everyday?! It’s incredible! I first met Kait during our time attending UVM and when she reached out to me for wedding photography I could not of been more thrilled! It’s amazing how college connects us even after we graduate. Go cats go!

Everything about their day was simply classy, from Kait’s stunning dress & long veil, her grandmother’s gorgeous pearls, and the bridal party all in black. And did you see the guys pink socks?! They definitely were a well dressed crew! After the ceremony everyone gathered at The Capital Plaza Hotel in Montpelier and started the party. Kait & Brody’s first dance was so beautiful, I could of photographed them dancing all night long. There were some very heart-felt toasts from not only the best man and maid of honor but the bride and groom themselves. And let’s not forget my favorite game of all time: The Shoe Game! Even I was on the floor laughing!

Emily & Brett made it official August 25, 2018 under sunny skies and mountain views in Jay, Vermont. It feels like just yesterday I was meeting them for the first time at their engagement session last summer; And now Im reflecting on their flawless wedding day! Their friends cabin property was the most perfect and unique setting to host their big day. I am so excited to share it with you!

Emily & Brett have the most easy going smiles and their love radiated between them all day long. From the moment they saw each other for their first look, that long walk down the aisle and even on the dance floor. There were endless emotions, knee slapping laughter and happy tears. You could truly feel the love surrounding these two. When Brett's brother, Aaron, pulled out the binder for his best man speech the crowd was in for a treat. I was grinning from ear to ear the entire time capturing everyone's infectious laughs, definitely one for the books! It was apparently clear to everyone in the room just how much Aaron loves and admires the bride & groom.

Chelsea & Logan | 08.18.18

The Little Farm at Willoughby was a stunning setting for Chelsea & Logan to tie the knot. As I headed north the morning of August 18, 2018, I knew the misty rain was going to stop. When I arrived in Westmore the fog was so heavy you couldn’t even see the lake but it felt magical, like a scene from a movie. The lighting for the rest of the day was an absolute dream: the fog lifted, there were bright overcast skies for the ceremony and then the sun made an appearance in the evening. I was in photographer heaven!

There wasn’t a dry eye in the crowd when Chelsea read her personal vows, and Logan’s dip for their first dance was the best I’ve ever seen! All of the details came together perfectly for a fun, easy-going, beautiful wedding day for these two amazing people. And did you see the DIY signage?! Chelsea did all the writing while Logan cut and stained the wood boards! What a team. And one of the best moments was capturing Logan pick up a delicious slice of wood-fired pizza and feed it to his bride without getting a drop of tomato sauce on the dress! That is true love. Their cake cutting was precisely at 8:18pm followed by one of my all time favorite games: the wedding shoe game. I was dying from laughter the entire time!

Chelsea & Logan ended their sunset portraits with 5 quiet minutes for themselves, just the two of them, processing the day. It goes by so fast, and in a blink of an eye the day is over, we have to remember what it’s really all about, your love and commitment to one another.

Chloe & Alex were married at All Souls Interfaith Gathering in Shelburne, Vermont surrounded by their closest family and friends. With this view and the perfect weather, you couldn't of asked for a better day. There were plenty of laughs including the confusion of the gentlemen preparing the pocket squares; This is never an easy task! (see Alex's face below) haha. Also, how sweet is this flower girl?! Outdoor toasts and cake cutting made for gorgeous light and stunning scenery. Why have a champagne toast when you can cheers with a one of a kind beer brewed just for the newlyweds!

From a mac & cheese bar at cocktail hour to the most incredible sundae bar fueled by Ben & Jerry's, a Harry Potter themed guest book & cake, and the sweetest father daughter dance, their special day with filled with SO many laughs my belly hurt by the time it was over! Ashley and Slava sang every word to their first dance song and then crushed it on the dance floor as the night went on. And did I mention I worked with my brother who was their DJ that night?! Tricia & Brian celebrated their love on a summer day in August at The Mansfield Barn. I try to remind my brides that the one thing you have absolutely no control of is the weather. The rain decided to come to Jericho, Vermont at the exact time of Tricia & Brian's ceremony but it didn't stop them from having the most absolutely perfect wedding. With clear skies for photos before and after they tied the knot, it truly was a magical day!

Tricia & Brian's first look was at their beautiful home just down the road from the wedding venue, on the same bridge we took their snowy engagement photos last winter. And to top the night off, who needs cake when you can have a Vermont Maple Creemee?!?
