My story...

Born and raised in Underhill, Vermont I graduated from The University of Vermont in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with concentrations in Entrepreneurship and Marketing with a minor in Applied Design. What inspired me to pursue photography you ask? Let me tell you:

Growing up, photography was always a hobby. What first inspired me was my Mom. She always had a camera in her hand at every special occasion and family function.  Birthday parties, holidays, anniversary celebrations, sporting events, and the list goes on and on. I grew up with book cases of photo albums covering every other wall of our house. This made photography a hobby for me and this is why I decided to make it my career...

The spring semester of my junior year at UVM I studied abroad in northern England. Throughout my five months living across the pond my roommate and I were able to travel to eleven different countries around Europe. There were numerous occasions when we were traveling when we wanted a photograph of us together and not just a selfie (although we got really good at those!). I can't tell you how many times we would get the photo back and either one of our heads was chopped off, or the beautiful cathedral we were standing purposefully in front of wasn't even in the picture. This is when I realized not everyone has an eye for it and that I see things differently than other people. I see photographs everywhere I go and not everyone can be a photographer.

Not only did studying abroad make me realize what I wanted to do with my life, it gave me a special appreciation of where I'm from and what I have. I love Vermont and I am forever grateful for my family. I feel incredibly lucky to be pursuing my passion and to be able to wake up every morning loving what I do. I graduated from The Hallmark Institute of Photography in June 2016 and I could not be more excited for my future!
